Summary

Originally released in 1991,A Link to the Pastis the only mainlineZeldatitle for the SNES, but it is widely considered one of the best entries in the franchise. After the sorcerer Agahnim takes over Hyrule Castle following the murder of its king by the Dark World’s monsters, Link sneaks into the castle’s dungeons and escorts Princess Zelda to the safety of a nearby sanctuary. After Link proves himself worthy to wield the Master Sword, Zelda is abducted again by Agahnim’s forces and taken to the Dark World, where the bulk of the game takes place.A Link to the Pasthas been released on multiple platforms, includingthe Nintendo Switch Online SNES app.

The soundtrack forA Link to the Past includes 31 songs with approximately 46 minutes of running time. Some tracks, like the iconic “Light World” and “Dark World” themes, are also supported by the app’s Extended Playback feature. These songs can be extended in looping increments of 15, 30, or 60 minutes. Nintendo Music users can stream and download songs as they see fit, provided their iOS or Android device has enough storage space.
