Starry Studio’s hit open-world survival game originally launched via Steam in early July 2024. Eight months later, the NetEase subsidiary committed to arelease date for theOnce Humanmobile version: April 23.
Ahead of this launch, the company set its sights on inactive players, whom it’s trying to tempt back with a huge login bonus in the form of 40,000 Starchrom and over 10 cosmetics,Eurogamerreports. The offer was relayed via email, which also provides an overview of some of the game’s recent features that lapsed players may not be aware of. Among other things, theOnce Humandeveloperhighlighted that the game now allows players to avoid server resets by staying on non-shutdown servers.
Once Human Server Reset Changes Explained
Up until recently, players were automatically enrolled inOnce Humanseasonsonce they started. This happened every six weeks, when old seasonal scenarios would get replaced with new ones, launched via different servers. This also prompted a partial progression reset, placing players on an unrevealed map and setting their character level back to one. Valuable currency like Starchroms and Mitsuko’s Marks would be carried over to the new server, as would any blueprints, non-Memetic furniture formulas, cosmetics, and namecards. Ditto for friend lists and quest progress.
Starry Studio switched things up on March 13, when it launched non-shutdown servers. As the name implies, these servers persist after their seasonal scenarios end, allowing players to choose between staying, signing up for another scenario, or returning to Eternaland. The launch of non-shutdown servers marked the start of a 30-day transition period, during which players need to log into the game and decide where to go after the seasonal settlement phase. Anyone who doesn’t do that by April 13 will get automatically moved to the Eternaland.
Another recently launched feature that Starry Studio highlighted is the ability to share resources between differentOnce Humancharacterson the same account. This essentially allows for character boosting, making repeated seasonal grinds somewhat easier.Once Humanpeaked at over 230,000 concurrent Steam players shortly following its July 2024 launch. As of late March 2025, the game’s peak hours still have around 35,000 people playing it simultaneously. Starry Studio previously confirmed thatOnce Humanwill support cross-play, allowing PC and mobile players to adventure together once the game makes its way to Android and iOS devices.
