Summary
Starry Studios’ highly successful free-to-play survival shooterOnce Humanwill be coming to mobile platforms on April 23, giving fans the ability to enjoy the game wherever and whenever they want. Originally launched in July 2024,Once Humanwas a hit right out of the gate and still is sitting at a comfortable “Mostly Positive” user rating on Steam nearly a year later.
The open-world, post-apocalyptic indie game sticks players on a fictional island called Nalcott after an event known as Starfall has destroyed almost everything. An alien substance called Stardust pervades the land, rendering some areas nearly inaccessible and mutating living beings — plant, animal, and human alike. Theplayer character inOnce Humanhas become a Meta, a biologically enhanced being with unique powers, as a result of experimentation. And, of course, an evil corporation is behind it all.
It’s been known since at least December thatOnce Humanwould eventually be coming to mobile platforms, and that time is fast approaching. On April 23, Starry Studios will be launching the game on Android and iOS devices, and pre-registration is already open. Additionally, in celebration of the release of the mobile version ofOnce Human, the developer will be giving away some Steam gift cards, a couple of AirPods, and even an iPhone 16 to a few lucky winners.
Once Human Launches on Mobile Platforms in April
It’s been confirmed that there will be cross-platform compatibility, meaning Metas on mobile will be able to explore Nalcott with those on PC. However, it’s still unclear whether there will be cross-saves. Either way, if it’s not a feature available on launch, there’s no saying it might not arrive later. The developers at Starry Studios have been extremely active within the community, holding regular livestreams and implementing many requested features and changes.
One thing that fans are still waiting for is news thatOnce Humanmight be coming to consoles next. After being only available on PC for nearly a year, its launch on mobile has given renewed hope to those who wish to enjoy the base-building, third-person shooter on their PS5 or Xbox Series console.
In the meantime, there is plenty planned for the survival gamein the near future. Two new scenarios, Code: Broken and Code: Purification, will be coming to early access in May and June, and players will also gain early access to optimizations forOnce Human’s Way of Winter scenario. Then, in July through September, the full versions of the aforementioned scenarios will launch, along with Code: Deviation. Additionally, seasons 3 and 4 of the game’s Visional Wheels will become available during these latter months.
