Who Is The Fleet Admiral In One Piece?

A Former Admiral And The Leader Of The Navy

In the series, the Admirals are at the very top ofOne Piece’sNavy hierarchy. Basically, these characters are the strongest and most loyal Navy officers who are tasked with leading those beneath them and protecting the World Government’s interest in the most desperate of situations. Although many could view them as pawns in the World Government’s greater plan, at the very least, these are some of the strongest characters in the entire series.

Overall, there are three Admirals in the Navy. However, there is one position above theAdmirals inOne Piece, the Fleet Admiral. This position basically consists of an Admiral who was promoted to lead over the entire Navy, often taking a backseat to the action the Admirals deal with. While in the pre-time skip series, Sengoku was the Fleet Admiral, after he retired, the character who killed Ace, Sakazuki, was given the position.

Would Fujitora Be A Good Fleet Admiral In One Piece?

Fans Want To Give The Blind Swordsman A Chance

However, many fans feel that Sakazuki isn’t up for the job and there are plenty of other strong candidates out there who would be better suited asthe leader of the Navy inOne Piece. Firstly, while this isn’t necessarily a bad thing for a Marine, Sakazuki is a bit too cruel towards pirates, leading to some clouded judgment when dealing with them. At the same time, Sakazuki is also more of a fighter and a person of action. Sitting behind a desk and doing clerical work doesn’t really suit the Fleet Admiral nearly as much.

On the flip side, while Fujitora is still willing to deal with pirates quickly and efficiently, he is also keen onthe idea of Humane Justice, a form of justice that prioritizes helping people and saving lives above all else. While this may not be the most effective outlook in the current landscape ofOne Piece, after Luffy becomes the Pirate King, in the next era of pirates, an outlook like this may be far more useful. Additionally, Fujitora, outside of being incredibly strong, is very wise and intelligent and seems to be reminiscent of Sengoku far more than Akainu is.

The One Piece World Would Have To Change Before Fujitora Becomes Admiral

The World Government System Needs A Revolution

Still, the main reason that Akainu remains as the Fleet Admiral probably has to do with the internal politics ofOne Piece’sWorld Government. The World Government can easily exploit Akainu’s hatred of pirates to get him on their side. Currently, while he would respect their orders, as he is loyal to the World Government, he may not carry out some cruel tasks they would ask of him. However, once the World Government is dismantled, Fujitora seems like he could be a much better fit for the job.

I bet you look kind. - Fujitora to Luffy

While there’s no telling what will happen inthe future ofOne Piece, it seems like Fujitora could be a good fit for the position of Fleet Admiral. However, before this happens, the structure world, mainly the Navy and the World Government, needs an overhaul. Luckily, there are plenty of revolutionaries and pirate crews looking to change theOne Pieceworld.
