Story Arc

Wano

The Celestial Dragons are the rulers of theworld who consider themselves to be Gods and the rest of the people to be nothing more than scum. Due to this perverse and racist ideology, they believe that they can do whatever they want, so they used to regularly hold contestsknown as the Native Hunting Competitions. In this, many World Nobles would hunt down and kill the residents of a certain island in order to accrue enough points. By the end of the competition, those with the most points win many incredible prizes.

38 years before the start of the current story, this competition was held on God Valley. However, due to the Celestial Dragons invading Hachinosu and stealing its treasure to make it a prize for their competition, the Rocks' Pirates made their way to this island to get their treasure back. Due to this, the Roger Pirates also went there to stop them, which in turn brought Garp and the Marines to the site as well. This resulted in an all-out war, where the Rocks Pirates, Roger Pirates, Marines, and Gods' Knights all fought.

How Is Elbaf A Repeat Of God Valley?

Can We Be Witnessing Another God Valley Incident?

Firstly, the premise of the God Valley Incident and the Gods' Knight’s plan on Elbaf seem to be very similar, especially because of one specific line that Shamrock said at the end of Chapter 1140 of the manga. The Native Hunting Competition was a game thatthe World Nobles took part inat the expense of the local population that seemed to further their goals in one way or another.

It’s known that the country of Elbaf is perhaps the greatest threat to the rule of the World Government since the strength of the giants has prevented them from issuing a hostile takeover of the island since the Void Century. However, now, the island seems weak enough for them to do so, which is one of the reasons the Gods' Knights went there in the first place. Their plan seems to be to kidnap the children of Elbaf to hold them hostage so that the Giants are forced to be compliant with the World Government’s takeover.

With our combined power, we could make a game out of this!

This would finally bring the island under their control after over 800 years of trying. When Shamrock states that a game could be made of kidnapping the children, it parallels the God Valley Incident since there is an attack issued towards the population ofthe island by the Gods' Knights. In making a game out of this, Shamrock ensured something in line with what his father did 38 years ago.

Furthermore, the treasures of God Valley were stated to be some of the most important objects in the world ofOne Piece, of which 2 were Devil Fruits and, perhaps, the others were something else. Coincidentally, these treasures could be mirrored in the modern day with Loki’s Devil Fruit and perhaps even the final Road Poneglyph, which many theorize will be on Elbaf under the care of Scopper Gaban. Since they couldn’t get the Devil Fruit for themselves, it’s thought that Gods' Knights approached Loki to enlist him into their ranks simply due to his strength which came from eating the fruit, which nicely mirrors the Devil Fruit treasures of God Valley.

Now, the most important aspect of how Elbaf connects to God Valley is due to the biggest players present in the arc. For one, it’s clear that the Gods' Knights parallel themselves from 38 years ago and the children of Elbaf parallel the natives from the Native Hunting Competition. Aside from this, theStraw Hats are the modern-day equivalent of the Roger Pirates. This raises the question about who the Rocks Pirates and Marines could be.

For the former, the entire story has alluded to Blackbeard being the second-coming of Rocks, so it’s highly likely that he may make his way to the island by the end of the arc to attempt to obtain either Loki’s Devil Fruit or the final Road Poneglyph. When he comes, he will have Garp aboard his ship, which could prompt the Marines to also make their way to the island in order to rescue one of their greatest assets from Blackbeard.

Fate has chosen me to conquer this world!

Many even think that Dragon could finally make his combat debut to rescue his father, though this is unlikely to be the case. However, if Koby comes to rescue his mentor, it would be the perfect parallel to God Valley, since he and Luffy would likely have to team up to defeat Blackbeard, just like how Garp and Roger were forced to team up to defeat Rocks during the God Valley Incident 38 years ago, bringing everything full circle.
