Out of any pirate crew in the world ofOne Piece, no other crew matches the level of versatility that the Straw Hat Pirates have. Although their crew is on the smaller side, each member of the crew has an extremely wide skill set covering a huge variety of topics. From archaeology to weather, to cola-based engineering, the Straw Hats have a character with a skill that can handle any situation thatOne Piecethrows at them.
However, due to the wide variety of skills the Straw Hats possess, over time, there are bound to be a couple that are forgotten. Whether they are used in combat or while exploring the world in general, these seemingly useful abilities have been missing since as early asthe pre-time skip era ofOne Piece. Although the crew may have no use for these abilities nowadays, many fans have wondered where these forgotten abilities of the Straw Hat Crew have gone.
Some One Piece Abilities Have Been Left Behind
These Forgotten Abilities Of The Straw Hats Are Very Useful
For the most part, these abilities don’t have to be staple parts of each Straw Hat Crew member to be forgotten by the series. This means that any ability, even if it was used only once, and never used again, could constitute a forgotten ability. Due to this, there are actually manyforgotten abilities thatOne Piecehad left behind before the Final Saga. Overall. Only a few forgotten abilities will be discussed, although there are a lot more out there.

Chopper’s Brain Point Was An Interesting Finisher
It Showed Chopper’s Intelligence In Battle
First up isChopper’s Brain Point and Scope, an old ability that used to guarantee Chopper’s victory in combat pre-time skip. This ability allowed Chopper to identify his target’s weakness, allowing him to exploit it to gain an edge over his opponent. However, since his forms were revamped after the time skip, he hasn’t used this ability a single time, despite being fairly powerful. Although some fans argue that he is in Brain Point all the time now, with his new base form having a large head, this hasn’t been officially stated in the manga.
Nami Used To Use Other Weather Effects Frequently
Now She Mainly Uses Thunder In Battle
Another ability that seems to be forgotten byOne Pieceis Nami’s abilityto create other weather phenomena, besides lightning storms. While in the past, Nami created multiple weather-based attacks, including mirages and fog, now, it seems like she constantly relies on the power of her thunder-based abilities to help her through combat. Although these abilities are quite strong, not having the same tricky arsenal as before makes her fights feel less fitting for a cat burglar character like Nami.
Brook Used To Hold THings In His Hollow Head
This Was Incredibly Important In Whole Cake Island
Next, and a bit more of a comedic answer, involves a strange ability thatthe Straw Hat musician, Brook, used to use frequently in the early stages of the story, but doesn’t use nearly as much now, his head storage. Early on, in a weird display of his skeleton body, Brook would store various objects in his head. This includes important scenes where he even hid the Poneglyph copies from Big Mom using his head. However, since this moment, it seems this small ability has fallen into obscurity and won’t be used for an important plot reason again.
Franky Used To Have Tons Of Wacky Abilities
He Uses A Much Smaller Arsenal Post-Time Skip
Finally, Franky himself has awide variety of cyborg enhancementsthat are no longer featured in the series. Whether due to his changing mechanical body, which received heavy adjustments during the time skip, or the fact that these abilities are no longer viable, Franky’s arsenal has changed a great deal post-time skip. Mainly, moves like Franky Centaur and Master Nail seem to be a relic of an earlier time. However, even some moves that made it to post-time skip, like the Franky Fireball, haven’t been used substantially since Punk Hazard.
It’s backwards!!! - Nero commenting on the Franky Centaur
In the end, although these moves are forgotten, this isn’t necessarilya bad thing forOne Piece. In fact, it partially shows that the series has evolved past the need for certain abilities, prioritizing different styles of battle and action. However, still, for some fans, it stings that they haven’t had the chance to see these interestingOne Pieceabilities in such a long time.
