Throughout the series,One Piecehas always placed a heavy focus on the generational groups of the world. For example, older generations of the series tend to have mentors or people they inspire who go on to fill a similar role they once did later down the line. Luffy, as many fans already know, emulates the former Pirate King, Roger, Koby is training under Garp, and so on.
Due to this, fans have a fairly clear idea of what newer generation characters will fill the various roles of older generation characters by the end ofOne Piece. This includes the Marine Admirals, the second-highest position of the Navy. While it’s impossible to know for certain, the fanbase of the series has some strong guesses as to who will become the future Admirals inOne Piece.
Who Are The Admirals In One Piece?
They Are The Navy’s Strongest Soldiers
The Admirals inOne Piece, simply put, are the strongest rank of the Navy. Composed of a group of three individuals, the Admirals act as commanders over the rest of the army and only act themselves in very severe circumstances. Additionally, above them, isOne Piece’sFleet Admiral, a former Admiral who rises to the top of the Navy, acting as the commander of the entire organization, even going above the Admirals. In total, for the highest positions of the Navy, there are three Admirals and a Fleet Admiral.
Honestly, if we all join the battle, who is going to protect this place? - Akainu
Currently, as many fans are well aware, the current Fleet Admiral of the Navy is Sakazuki, the incredibly powerful wielder of the Magma-Magma Fruit. Under him, Borsalino, aka Kizaru, Issho, aka Fujitora, and Aramaki, aka Ryokugyu, are the current Admirals. Plus, former Admirals and Admiral candidates include characters likethe Blackbeard Pirate Kuzan, who is now with the Blackbeard Pirates, Sengoku, and Garp. Being some of the most powerful threats in theOne Pieceuniverse at this time, these characters give a pretty good indicator of how strong a character needs to be to become an Admiral.
Koby And Smoker Feel Like Strong Admiral Choices
Both Have High Amounts Of Potential In One Piece
First up, very obviously, it seems likely that Koby, Luffy’s ally and a powerful Marine, will become an Admiral by the end of the series. Being an Admiral is Koby’s dream in the series, and the character works extremely hard to make this a reality. Training under Garp, Koby parallelsOne Piece’sHero of the Navyin many ways, and will likely grow exponentially in power. Still, based on his performance on Hachinosu, he is likely going to be at the Admiral level fairly soon.
Next, although this seems like a less obvious choice, Smoker may also be a good choice to become an Admiral by the end of the series. Acting as an early rival to Luffy, Smoker has grown fairly substantially throughout the series, especially during the time skip when he was promoted toa Vice Admiral inOne Piece. Although he still needs another power boost or two to become strong enough for the role of Admiral, based on his track record, he could likely get there by the end of the series.
Drake Could Be A Strong Leader As An Admiral
A Marine To Follow In Sengoku’s Footsteps
Finally, the last Admiral would likely be X Drake, the member of the Worst Generation, a former Rear Admiral, and a leader ofthe Navy organization SWORD. Although X Drake is in a similar case to Smoker and requires a fairly substantial power boost before being able to reach the rank of Admiral, based on his past ties to Sengoku, it would make sense if he were to follow in his footsteps and become a high ranking Marine down the line. Plus, with his work with SWORD, Drake is a strong leader who would make for a strong leader both on and off the field of battle.
One day I’ll become an Admiral in the Navy! - Koby
As for the Fleet Admiral, many fans hope that one day Fujitora will take over forSakazuki inOne Piece, taking the Marines to a new era of peace. As of now in the story, with the Navy in turmoil over the events of the world, it seems likely that big changes will come soon. Fans will simply have to wait for the next chapters inOne Piecethat feature the Marines to see what the future of the organization will hold.
