Summary

Although they haven’t been shown in any combat situation so far, it’s clear that the Gods' Knights are going to be the final villains ofOne Piece’sElbaf arc. Their ultimate plan has also been revealed, where they are conspiring to kidnap the children of Elbaf to hold them hostage, and, in the process, weaken the country enough for them to issue a forceful takeover of the one island that has eluded the World Government for over 800 years.

Although their leader, and likely the strongest of them all, St. Figarland Shamrock, has left the island, the others remain to follow through with their plan. Currently, they have been shown to do this withtheir incredibly powerful Devil Fruit abilities, which seem to be so powerful that they can pose the greatest threat to Elbaf and the heroes, so let’s see what this could look like inOne Piece.

Story Arc

Elbaf

As stated previously, the true plan of the Gods' Knights on Elbaf has to do with kidnapping the children in order to make the country weak enough for a hostile takeover by the World Government. And, as of Chapter 1142, it can be seen how they plan to go about doing this since itseems that the Devil Fruitsof each of the three present Gods' Knights are working in tandem to make this happen.

The first thing to consider is St. Shepherd Sommers' mysterious and overpowered Paramecia Type Devil Fruit, which possibly has the ability to manifest the greatest fears of its targets. This is seen in Chapter 1142, where the children of the Walrus School were stating their greatest fears, only for those very same fears to be given shape in hulking forms that make even the Giants of Elbaf seem tiny by comparison. This is made even scarier by the fact that these fears are real and tangible rather than just being figments of someone’s imagination.

All the beasts are the things the kids fear the most! This is their nightmare world!

Secondly, St. Killingham seems to have a Mythical Zoan Devil Fruit, which already puts him on a high level in terms of how strong he is. However, to add on top of this, the ribbon of smoke around him implies that he has awakened this power, making him even more deadly than previously believed. While the true nature and powers of this fruit are currently unconfirmed,Chapter 1142 makes it seemas if he can put his targets in a sleep-like trance that they can’t seem to wake up from, effectively taking them out of any engagement.

Finally, Gunko’s Aro Aro no Mi is the only Devil Fruit within the ranks of the Gods' Knights whose name is revealed, though how its powers work remains a subject of speculation. She can manifest arrows from her body that lay out a path that will be followed no matter what, possibly making her next attack even stronger if it connects. These arrows can also be used as projectiles on their own that can stab and pierce her targets.

Now, putting all of these Devil Fruits together offers an incredible team-up of powers that is very dangerous to go up against, as was seen in Chapter 1142. By manifesting the gigantic fears of the children,St. Sommers was able to provide a potent distractionthat captured the attention of just about every Giant on Elbaf, while St. Killingham put all the children to sleep with his power. Next, Gunko used her arrows to direct the children away from the school, making these three Devil Fruits even more potent when used together.

This also goes on to show that the eventual showdowns that the Straw Hats have with the Gods' Knights will be far more cerebral than any of the fights they’ve had before. By making them go up against Sommers and Killingham specifically, the heroes will have to fight with their heads as they will be faced with powers that will require more than just brute strength to overcome.

What Are The Match-Ups In Elbaf?

Which Hero Will Fight Which Villain?

Just like every otherOne Piecearc before this, the final fights in the arc will have the main heroes battling against the main villains in a way that puts each of the warriors against a specific opponent. However, this is a little tricky when consideringthe power of Gear 5 Luffy, since he is likely far stronger than any antagonist on Elbaf so far since he was seen going up against the 5 Elders at once on Egghead Island. With Shamrock having left, it seems that Luffy currently has no one to fight.

However, there is a chance that, once freed, Loki will continue his rampage on the island using his incredibly powerful Sun God Devil Fruit. This may put him on a collision course with Luffy, who would have to fight him as an equal to defeat him. As for the others, it may be that the Giants and non-combat-aligned Straw Hats come together to defeat Sommer’s manifestations, while Zoro battles the real thing and Sanji goes up against Killingham.
