Summary
In the recent chapters ofOne Piece’sElbaf arc, the Gods' Knight’s plan was revealed. Since the land of the Giants proved to be one of the World Government’s greatest obstacles to overcome, they sought to send the Gods' Knights to the island in order to weaken it for a hostile takeover, something which they had been unable to do ever since the Void Century ended 800 years before the start of theOne Piecestory.
The way the Gods' Knights are going about this is quite interesting, but their plan seems to be impossible without the involvement of someone within Elbaf helping them achieve their goal. So, in this article, let’s have a detailed overview ofthe plan to weaken Elbafand see the most likely candidate from within the country who may have been helping the Gods' Knights in completing this evil plan.

On Elbaf, King Harald is unanimously regarded as the greatest king that the island has ever had. Since the Giants are feared across the world as savage and dangerous people whose entire culture is built around war, one would assume that King Harald would be someone who had encouraged this aspect over everything else. However, Harald was known as a man of peace who wanted tochange the image of Elbaf and its people.
He was a ruler who wanted to change the Giants of Elbaf from people of war to those of peace. Despite being the strongest warrior in the land, he got rid of his Ancient Giant horns as a testament to his commitment to changing the way Giants are viewed in the world, wanting to forfeit their warlike and isolationist culture in favor of promoting trade and peaceful relations with their neighbors. Because of this, the residents of the island largely gave up their ways and worked towards peace.
However, this may all have been just a farce, since many fans believe that Harald was secretly working with the Gods' Knights. The main reason to believe this is that by shutting down the culture of how the Giants used to be, Harald may have made his people and his island weak. Furthermore,when Shamrock and Gunko appearedon the island for the first time, they did so via a summoning circle that was within the ruins of Aurust Castle, implying that it had been there from before.
If the Gorosei and Gods' Knights were able to teleport just about anywhere at any time, they could have done so many times in the story, so the fact that they didn’t implies that this is not the case. Plus, Gunko also needed to place the summoning circle later on to summon St. Sommers and St. Killingham. But with all this said, how does this work with the Gods' Knight’s plan?

Basically, the theory states that it had always been the plan of the World Government to weaken Elbaf enough for a hostile takeover of the island. In achieving this goal, they may havesomehow gotten Harald in on this plan, who then worked towards weakening Elbaf enough and erasing as much of their warlike culture as possible so the Giants would be weak enough to not put up as much of a fight. Moreover, it was likely Harald himself who allowed the summoning circle to be put in Aurust Castle that Shamrock and Gunko used. This is strengthened by Sommers when he asked if Shamrock was visiting Harald’s grave, implying a connection there.
Whatever the plan was originally, it seems to have worked, since the original culture of Elbaf isn’t really followed anymore. However, Harald’s death at the hands of Loki was likely an unforeseen variable, so the Gods' Knights probably had to improvise, which is likely why they are rounding up the children of Elbaf to hold them hostage for the Giants to surrender themselves.
Where Does Loki Fit Into All Of This?
The Accursed Prince’s Role On Elbaf
Loki is an enigma in the story. It is known that he rebelled against his father’s rule and ended up killing him, while also being responsible for much carnage that happened across the island. However, this theory claims that Loki saw his father’s treachery and knew what this meant for the country at large, so he put a stop to the World Government’s plansby killing King Harald, accepting full responsibility afterwards since he knew that no one would believe his words over someone as loved as Harald’s.
Due to this rebellion, Loki was chained to the base of the Adam Tree by the involvement of Shanks, but in doing so, staved off the Gods' Knight’s takeover for the foreseeable future. This would work very well with everything that is currently going on and would even confirm multiple fan theories that state Loki is not a bad guy after all. Until the truth is revealed, fans can just sit and wait to see what comes of this arc.
