Path of Exile 2is a sequel to the 2013 title of the same name, serving as an isometric dungeon crawler boasting 12 character classes with three Ascendancy Classes each. The early access version of the game features six of the planned 12 classes, including Warrior, Monk, Mercenary, Sorceress, Witch, and Ranger.Path of Exile 2’s 0.2.0 update promises a handful of exciting gameplay changesand is expected to drop in late March 2025.
Posted on the officialPath of Exilewebsite, the developer noted they had to keep big changes from the upcoming update behind the veil for now, but managed to let a few teasers escape. WhilePath of Exile 2’s 0.2.0 patch will buff the strongest build archetypein the game, the update will also introduce new Ascendancy Classes. An illustration was provided for one of the new classes showing a character wielding a crossbow, saying, “Countless wars have left you with skills somewhat resembling a decent officer…” Many speculate that this will be a new Ascendancy for the Mercenary class.

If that wasn’t enough excitement, the blog post also revealed two Unique items arriving in the new update, named the Prism Guardian, which is a Sectarian Crest Shield, and The Deepest Tower being a Spiritbone Crown. However, players will need to achieve a higher level before attempting to use the new items. Furthermore, Grinding Gear Games highlighted several improvements that were coming to Endgame in the update, including enhancements and new choices being added to the Atlas Passive Skill Tree. Players are also keen to participate inPath of Exile 2’s new race eventshosted during the countdown to update 0.2.0, and players who win first place will receive a brand-new custom-decaled laptop from Alienware.
Considering the new Ascendancy Classes coming to the game,Path of Exile 2’s most popular classeswere recently revealed. Stormweaver and Invoker came out on top, chosen by 19.04% of players, followed by the Infernalist in third place with a popularity of 16.45%. Unfortunately, the Acolyte of Chayula was noted as the least-used class in the game, with only 1.15% of players backing it.
