Summary
APokemonfan used 3D printing to recreate the Luxury Ball fromPokemon Legends: Arceus. There are many kinds of Poke Balls in thePokemonfranchise, with each one used to capture a certain type or level of Pokemon during the player’s journey to complete their Pokedex. The Luxury Ball in particular was introduced inPokemon Ruby and Sapphireand gives the Pokemon it is captured with a higher Friendship stat, making it valuable for trainers who wish to obtain Friendship-based evolutions like Espeon and Umbreon.
Luxury Balls have been an obtainable item in every mainlinePokemongame since the third generation, and have even been featured in a fewPokemonanime episodes and movies. One particular episode ofPokemon Horizonsgave viewers alook inside the Luxury Ball, with a Quaxly seemingly enjoying an orange beverage while relaxing in a sort of VIP lounge. The Luxury Ball was also one of the many Poke Balls available in the 2022 spin-offPokemon Legends: Arceus, which featured an antique version of the famous monster-catching capsules for the Hisui region.
Reddit user Nabahe602 has recreated plenty of thePokemonfranchise’s unique Poke Balls using their 3D printer, with their latest set being theHisuian variants fromPokemon Legends: Arceus. They recently shared a picture of their 3D-printed Hisuian Luxury Ball on r/pokemon, and it faithfully recreates the ball’s black shell, fancy gold trim, and the latch-like clasp that would eventually be replaced by the modern-day design fans are more accustomed to later in thePokemontimeline.
3D-Printed Pokemon Luxury Ball Combines Antique With Elegance
Nabahe602 has also printed off otherPokemon Legends: ArceusPoke Balls, such asthe standard wooden Poke Ball, higher-level Great Ball, and Heavy Balls that work better with larger Pokemon. Some of their non-Arceusprintings include the water-focused Dive Ball, Ultra Beast-specialized Beast Ball, and even the dark Clone Ball that Mewtwo used to capture and replicate opposing Pokemon in the originalPokemonmovie. Many of these models double as carrying cases for Game Boy Advance game cartridges. Nabahe602 says that they had previously taken a break from 3D printing Poke Balls before starting on thePokemon Legends: Arceusset.
Each newPokemongame always brings with it the chance tointroduce even more Poke Ball types, just as it does with the Pokemon they are used to catch. This means that Nabahe602 still has plenty of inspiration for future 3D printing projects based on the various items of thePokemonfranchise.
