Niantic announced thePokemon GOBug Out event is returning soon to mark the debut of Generation 8 Pokemon Sizzlipede and Centiskorch fromPokemon Sword and Shield. Similarly to monthly Community Day events inPokemon GO, Bug Out 2025 will offer various event bonuses and free rewards.

ThePokemon GOMight and Mastery season recently began on March 4, and the season will offer roughly three months' worth of limited-time events, including this year’sPokemon GOFest event. One of the season’s first events was Powerful Potential, which saw the debut ofKubfu the Wushu Pokemon inPokemon GOon March 5. More Pokemon will arrive inPokemon GOwith this year’s Bug Out event, and Pokemon Trainers have an increased chance to level up and encounter sought-after Shiny Pokemon.

The 2025Pokemon GOBug Out event will run from Wednesday, March 26, at 10:00 a.m. to Sunday, March 30 at 8:00 p.m. local time, and it will feature both Sizzlipede and Centiskorch. During the event, players will receive double XP and increased Candy/Candy XL drops for catching Pokemon with Nice Throws or better. Players can acquire 50 Sizzlipede Candy to evolve the Pokemon into Centiskorch. Moreover, Lure Modules will attract Sizzlipede, and catching enough Pokemon with help from Lure Modules will attract additional Pokemon to luredPokeStops inPokemon GO. There’s also an increased chance of encountering Shiny Wurmple and Shiny Venipede.

Alongside Sizzlipede and Centiskorch, several Pokemon will appear more frequently in the wild during Bug Out 2025, including Caterpie, Weedle, Wurmple, Nincada, Venipede, Dwebble, Joltik, Grubbin, Dewpider, Nymble, and Cutiefly. Since the encounter rate for the aforementioned Pokemon will be increased, players have a greater chance ofencountering Shiny versions of Pokemonas well. In addition, select Pokemon will appear in limited-time One-Star and Three-Star Raids, such as Scyther, Sizzlipede, Beedrill, Scizor, and Kleavor.

Bug Out-themed Field Research and Timed Research tasks will be available inPokemon GOwith valuable rewards up for grabs, such as Mega Energy, Scatterbug Candy, Lure Modules, and encounters with Sizzlipede and other featured Pokemon.Pokemon GOplayers wanting additional rewards may purchase Paid Timed Research for $2 to receive one Lure Module, two Premium Battle Passes, and even more guaranteed encounters with the Bug Out event’s featured Pokemon. It’s worth noting that all Timed Research will expire on March 30 at 8:00 p.m. local time, so all the associated tasks must be completed and rewards must be claimed before the deadline.

Lastly, thein-game shop inPokemon GOwill be updated when Bug Out begins. The new Sizzlipede Boots and Scolipede Jacket avatar items will be available starting March 26, and the items will continue to be available after Bug Out ends.
