Summary
Pokemon Legends: Z-Ahas just barely given expectant fans their first glimpse of the Hex Maniac, but that hasn’t stopped one cosplayer from seizing the new opportunity.Pokemon Legends: Z-Afans are sharing their praise for the quick cosplay, and their excitement over the return of the Hex Maniac.
The Hex Maniac inPokemonhas always been something of a mystery. The game franchise has included the occult and supernatural themes since the very first title, while the Hex Maniac made her first official appearance in Gen 3. Since then, most of the games have included a Hex Maniac trainer, or in some cases, an apparitionghost girl that spontaneously appears inPokemongames.
Pokemoncosplayer sadgirlcitycos has now shared their rendition of theHex Maniacas they appear inPokemon Legends: Z-A. Hex Maniac’s outfit and appearance have changed somewhat since her last incarnation, with her wearing a shorter layered black dress, a purple ribbon, corset belt, and purple earrings. The cosplayer does a great job of replicating this new look, sans the purple earrings, even going so far as to use makeup to emulate the tired downturned eye look that Hex Maniac has in her first reveal. Fans have been quick to share their support for the cosplayer’s effort, complimenting the overall look, makeup, and recommending that the cosplayer add the purple earrings to fully polish the design.
Hex Maniac’s Return Has Been Long-Awaited
Pokemonfans have counted on seeing a Hex Maniac appear in nearly every game ever since she’s become a regular part of the series. However,Hex Maniac has a particular tie to Lumiose City, wherePokemon Legends: Z-Ais set. InPokemon X and Y, which was also set there, players were particularly spooked by a Hex Maniac - or a ghost that looks just like her - suddenly appearing behind the player, declaring that they’re not the one, and then gliding out of view. No explanation for the character’s random appearance was ever shared. While there’s a good chance that the games will continue with the randomness and secretive nature of this encounter, players are particularly hopeful that the Hex Maniac’s inclusion in thePokemon Legends: Z-Ateaser will mean a follow-up to that odd moment.
Pokemon Legends: Z-Astill has a lot to show fans, and a bit to prove following the messy launch ofPokemon Scarlet and Violet. With a late 2025 release window, players may still have to wait a while before they learn more about what the game has in store for them.
