Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Reveal Tyranitar Tera Raids (Late March 2025)

Although Tyranitar can normally beobtained by catching and evolving a Larvitar, the Armor Pokemon will be level 100 when caught in this Tera Raid battle. Tyranitar the Unrivaled will have either Sand Stream or Unnerve as its ability, but neither should prove much of a problem for seasonedPokemontrainers. But, Tyranitar’s high physical attack and physical defense stats will pose a problem for somePokemonteams. Additionally, Tyranitar can use moves like Shadow Claw, Breaking Swipe, and Low Kick for coverage against Ghost and Dark Pokemon, which are super-effective against the Tera-Ghost type.

Pokemon such as Annihilape, Ting-Lu, or Urshifu could power through Tyranitar’s assault and counter with strong attacks of their own. While Tyranitar the Unrivaled will bea powerful Ghost Pokemonboss, it remains to be seen what strategiesPokemon Scarlet and Violetplayers develop in the days ahead.
