Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket’s first-ever set of rewards for ranked competition is drawing a lot of positive responses from its player base. Ranked matches inPokemon Trading Card Game Pockethave been a longstanding request from the player community, and now that they’re finally available, the opening season provides rewards for climbing the ranks that players can actually use.
Thehighly requestedPokemon TCG Pocketgame modelaunched on July 04, 2025. Since the game’s introduction back at the end of October 2024, players have been able to test their card-battling skills against one another in head-to-head matches. While past events have let players earn badges to display their prowess at building and managing the best decks possible, the new ranked system really lets them climb the ranks to see who is a truePokemonmaster.
Players seem very pleased with the latestupdate toPokemon TCG Pocket, which adds plenty of quality-of-life features, a new collection of cards called Shining Revelry, and slots for up to 20 decks. But ranked matches may be the most exciting new feature of all, and the consensus opinion seems to indicate players find the rewards for climbing the ranks to be very generous. The ranked system, which places players of similar skill levels against each other, includes four tiers — Beginner, Poke Ball, Great Ball, and Ultra Ball — with four ranked sections apiece, along with a Master Ball tier that ranks the top 10,000 players in the world. The end of the season on July 17, 2025, will reward each participating player with an emblem showing their final tier placing as well as anywhere between 10 and 100 Pack Hourglasses, provided that they at least make it to the lowest Poke Ball tier.
Pokemon TCG Pocket Season A2b Ranked Rewards
A Pack Hourglass inPokemon TCG Pocketreduces the cooldown timer between opening a new card pack by one hour each, with 12 hourglasses required to bypass an entire cooldown cycle. Fans of the game posting on forums like Reddit seem pleased that the game is rewarding them with such useful items. Some have noted that, since losses do not decrease a player’s rank below Great Ball level, players who are able to grind up to that point are guaranteed at least 50 Pack Hourglasses at the end of the season. While that may still be a feat for newer players, it also decreases the rewards gap between mid and high-tier players, which seems to be attracting a lot of players to the game mode.
The reactions should be a solid change of pace for the development team. In February, fans complained aboutuseless rewards inPokemon TCG Pocket’s Chimchar-related Wonder Pick Event, as the only non-cosmetic reward was a collection of Shinedust. That item has, up until now, only been useful in obtaining flair, but changes in coming months will make it a usable currency for trading.
