Arthur Morgan is a notorious outlaw, so it’s only natural that the stores he visits across the many states ofRed Dead Redemption 2have further value to them than what is first expected. There are a total of 4 side businesses that players can rob inRed Dead Redemption 2, and each of them has a unique experience that caninvolve other gangs, the law, or something weird entirely.
Robbing stores is a great way to get money, even if it is dishonorable, but there are certain side businesses found inRed Dead Redemption 2that warrant even more money than what is initially obtained from the cash register, so grab a bandana and a revolver and prepare to show these stores why Arthur is a bad man.
4The Doctor’s Office of Valentine
Rob the O’Driscolls of their Money Laundering Operation
In the central block of Valentine, players can visit the Doctor’s Office, which is sandwiched between the salon and the Sheriff’s Office. If players decide to explore the back of this building, they can find a locked metal door withan O’Driscoll keeping guardfrom inside, which is the perfect excuse Arthur needs to head inside and point his gun at the Doctor to rob both the cash register and the side business in the back room.
This is one of the more dangerous side businesses to rob, as not only will the O’Driscolls inside be hostile, but so will the woman who poses no threat. On top of that, the safe needs to be blown up, which causes quite the commotion outside, leading to the sheriff and his deputies surrounding the Doctor’s Office.
3The General Store of Strawberry
Rob An Illicit Moonshine Distillery at the General Store
At the back of the General Store, players can peep through a tiny window to see an illegal moonshine distillery from the basement. If players then venture towards the General Store and get their guns ready, they can decide to rob the General Store owner, who will take players down into the basement for his illegal earnings, which will now be Arthur’s.
It’s hard not to feel a tad sorry for the shopkeeper, as players with keen eyes will note his prosthetic leg. However, Arthur is an outlaw and probably doesn’t care for such things, and only cares for money, especially when it’s easily stashed inside this illegal business. This is an easy side business to rob since the ownerdoesn’t want to involve the lawdue to the illegal nature of the distillery, which nets Arthur less honor, but more money.
2The Gunsmith of Rhodes
Free an Innocent Captive to Loot Cash and Ammo in Abundance
Venturing through Rhodes can be a tense experience due to the foul Lemoyne Raiders, the disinterested Southern population, and the fact that the town is infested with the Grays family that watchArthur’s every move. However, what’s even weirder still is that on the side of the Gunsmith’s store, a basement can be seen where a teenager dressed in a sailor outfit is chained downstairs and begging for help.
Arthur can, at his own pace, rob the Gunsmith and force him into opening up the basement. From within, players can free the captive for some honor, and even hear the Gunsmith’s sob story about how he lost his own son in a gun accident. Sob story aside, Arthur can loot the place of ammo he needs along with the cash register and lockbox, as well as a free Lancaster Repeater, which playersshould already have at this pointanyway.
1The Gunsmith of Saint Denis
Interrupt a Private Poker Game for Top Earnings
The humble Gunsmith of Saint Denis might seem like an ordinary business where players can purchase weapons, butthey can investigatethe metal door in the back for some truly suspicious activity. Alternatively, they can receive a tip on this illegal side business from a beggar when they donate 25 cents. Either way, it’s time to rob the place, but robbing it from the front entrance isn’t a good idea in a city filled with cops.
Aim your weapon at the Gunsmith so that he opens the metal door, and now it’s time to threaten the guard so that he keeps quiet and lets Arthur upstairs without a fuss so that nobody alerts the law. In doing so, players can head upstairs and threaten the poker players, stealing the cash on the table, threatening them for their own valuables, and forcing one of them to open the safe for even more earnings without alerting the cops.
