7Understanding the Enemy Spawn/Despawn System

Enemies Despawn After No Contact, But Respawn After Death

The monsters ofR.E.P.O.are utterly terrifying in design, but there is a way to counter them. Sure, players can try and kill them, but players can also ignore them and avoid them until they despawn. Thegame is rather generousin that way, so if players just ignore monsters and try not to get their aggressive attention, then the monsters should despawn soon after.

Most monsters will despawn if they have no contact with a player for over 40 seconds, and while they may respawn later, it’s a few minutes of safety without them lurking. Killing an enemy will see it drop a valuable orb, but it is guaranteed to respawn after a few minutes. As for when it’s time to evacuate to the ship, it’s worth noting that enemies will respawn as soon as they’re killed.

6Heal and Revive Allies

Players Can Give Health to Allies and Revive Them

If a player dies, which will be a common theme inR.E.P.O.considering the hostile nature of the monsters that feature, then they can pick up their head and take them to an extraction point to revive them. Doing so will spawn them on 1 HP, but players can give them some of their own health by clicking on the back of their neck, which exchanges health in intervals of 10.

Considering being on 1 HP is a death sentence, sharing at least 20 HP is always a nice thing to do for allies, especially when after all extraction points are completed and players return to the ship, they will be rewarded with 25 HP, so within a level or two, players can get all their health back withhelpful teammates.

5Push and Pull Items to Attack Monsters

Use Valuables as Weapons with the Scroll Wheel

The Scroll Wheel on the mouse acts as the ability to push and pull items that are currently being held by the player. With this tool now known, players can use the physics and the velocity of an item to throw it or simply drag it into an enemy like a makeshift melee weapon to push them down or cause damage to them.

It’s a useful strategy when trying to bait the Hunter, and a decent strategy for knocking down and eliminating dangerous enemies like the Rugrat, who can throw players and their items. Push and pull, even if an item will break, as the orb enemies drop will usually be worth more anyway.

using the radar mini-map

4Use the Radar to Navigate the Level

The Mini-Map Shows the Way Forward and Loot

The Radar is activated with the Tab button on a keyboard, and doing so brings up a useful mini-map. The Radar showcases the player’s upgrades, along with the route to the ship or the extraction point, the rooms that have been explored or unexplored, and even the loot thathas been left behindas noted by the green blip.

The Radar is definitely something all players should get used to, and use to the fullest extent of its abilities. It’s great for navigating corridors with heavy objects, and for finding where to go next when things often feel maze-like. Without using the Radar, players are going to get lost and easily miss valuables.

3Tumble Launch to Reach Inaccessible Areas and Fight

Become an Object to Become a Useful Tool

Players can become useful items by using Tumble Launch (Q) which allows them to drop into a small state where they are basically just a head. In this mode, other players can pick the player up and move them around, perhaps to hard-to-reach spots so that they can climb areas and look for loot, or, use them as a weapon.

Players can use the Tumble Launch ability to smack themselves into enemies, causing them to take damage and in some cases, fall over. Doing this is the perfect method to flank an enemy and make them vulnerable so allies can team up andsmash them together.

Strength Upgrade

2Focus on Strength Upgrades

Strength is Vital for Bullying Monsters and Picking Up Loot

Strength Upgrades from the shop are the most essential upgrades one can acquire, as although it doesn’t increase stamina, speed, or health, it does increase the amount of weight that a player can carry. This means that they need fewer hands to help with larger items, and eventually, they can pick up and bully monsters.

With enough Strength Upgrades purchased, players are going to easily pick up larger valuables to drag them toextraction points, but they are also going to be able to pick up and smash monsters to death so that they can pick up the orbs that they drop.

1C.A.R.T.’s Have Cushioned Interiors

Feel Free to Drop Loot Without Regard for Safety

Valuables are rather weak, and it takes a simple bump or a drop to either damage it or shatter it so that it’s worth nothing, and the entire venture has been a waste of time and money. However, that’s why the C.A.R.T. is so worth it because it actually has a soft interior.

With the C.A.R.T., players can drop their loot into it from a reasonable distance without worrying about the item smashing, and the same can be done for the extraction point. The soft padding of these items means players can stack items and drop themwithout being overly cautious.
