According toComicbookmovie.com, Tatiana Maslany will be returning to the MCU as Jennifer Walters inAvengers: Doomsdayin what is expected to be a “significant role.” The lawyer-turned-superhero hasn’t been seen in the MCU since 2022, but the character is one that is likely to return in the not-so-distant future. Comic Con Liverpool announced that Maslany had to cancel her planned appearance in May due to filming commitments, and while she does have several projects right now, there are a lot of rumors pointing toward this being connected tofilming forAvengers: Doomsday.
Walters debuted in the MCU as thelead star inShe-Hulk: Attorney at Lawin 2022, receiving plenty of positive reviews. It provided a rare example of an MCU project with a lead female character, which is something that excited audiences. However, the show ended up being controversial due to the fourth-wall-breaking moments, and the fact that the VFX needed to make She-Hulk look realistic and impressive wasn’t at the standard people had in their minds. Audiences were expecting movie-level quality in the same way that the Hulk has been treated over the years, but that wasn’t possible with this show, and it held the character back.
Even though the Russo Brothers have denied that the recently leaked concept art was fortheir upcomingAvengersmovies, they did feature She-Hulk alongside Hulk in an area seemingly themed to them. Whether that exact scene ends up taking place, all of the signs are currently pointing toward She-Hulk being involved in what would be her first appearance in anAvengersmovie. They would only increase the power within the Avengers group.
Anthony Mackie has revealed that his version of Captain Americawill be choosing a new Avengers lineupinAvengers: Doomsday, giving a freshen-up to the franchise overall. This could lead to She-Hulk being an official member of the Avengers at some point in the movie, which would be a new twist. Seeing her alongside Hulk would create an amazing visual and could set up some fantastic fight scenes that would entertain audiences. Adding She-Hulk to one of Marvel’s movies would give the studios an opportunity to do the character justice from a visual perspective, and that’s something that would only increase the excitement and the potential surrounding her. Meanwhile, it will give audiences a new character to experience inAvengers: Doomsday, which can only enhance the viewer’s experience.
