The remaster brings new post-game content under the direct supervision of Akitoshi Kawazu, the creator of theSaGaseries. SaGa Frontier 2 Remastered Is Available Now

SaGa Frontier 2 Remasteredis now available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation consoles, PC via Steam, and Android and iOS devices. The JRPG is Square Enix’s latest release at a time when the company’s lineup has been relatively empty since its strategy was reworked last year. The only title with a release window for 2025 is theupcomingDragon Quest 1+2 HD-2D Remake. Other than that, Square has confirmed thatFinal Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3is in development, whileDragon Quest 12: Flames of FateandKingdom Hearts 4, both announced long ago, remain shrouded in uncertainty with no hopeful updates or release windows.

It’s intriguing to see howSaGacontinues to be a consistently released series, especially after Square canceled numerous projects and suffered losses with several games that failed to meet expectations. Last year, the company devised a new long-term strategy involvingmultiplatform releases for theFinal Fantasyseriesafter bothFinal Fantasy 16andFinal Fantasy 7 Rebirthfell short of sales targets. With so much caution on its part, the attention Square gives to lesser-known series likeSaGais a bit of a head-scratcher, albeit an excellent prospect for its fans.
