Where To Find Captain Sims In Atomfall

To find Captain Sims, head to Wyndham Village via the northern entrance from Slatten Dale. The first time you enter the village, Captain Sims' location will be in the bandstand in the central village green, where he can be seen giving a speech to the villagers about their traditional (“aberrant”) pagan practices. You cannot talk to Captain Sims while he is in the bandstand, nor while he navigates around the village.

However, after a few minutes, or after you enter and exit a few buildings in the village, Captain Sims will move to the Village Hall. Look for him on the stage of the village hall, where he will greet you for the first time. From here on out, Captain Sims will not move from this spot.

Should You Trust Captain Sims In Atomfall?

Captain Sims is the head of the local Protocol occupation force, which is a special squadron of soldiers who were sent into the Quarantine Zone some time ago. As players may discover from various notes, they are not still here here by choice – as it turns out, they are just as trapped as anyone else in the Zone. Previous attempts by Protocol soldiers to escape over the wall were even met with a firing squad, according toa note you can find within the Village Hall.

However, many villagers resent the soldiers and consider Protocol’s occupation of Wyndham village a fascist occupation led by a tinpot dictator. Captain Sims is not shy about imprisoning villagers who resist the Protocol, and considering the soldiers are the only ones with guns (aside from Outlaws), they can make the rules as they see fit.

On one hand, Protocol is just as much of a threat to the outside British forces as the rest of the citizens in the Quarantine Zone. They tried to escape before, and were shot by soldiers outside of the Zone. On the other hand, Captain Sims enforces his rule with an iron fist and a chappy demeanor, and Protocol soldiers seem far from friendly. You can even hear some soldiers remark that they want to kill citizens if they get any cheeky remarks from villagers.

Ultimately, it’s up to you whether you want to work with Captain Sims and can look past these militaristic faults. Captain Simswill offer the player a way to escapeat the very end of the game, but it’s up to you whether to work with this occupying force or take the side of the villagers (and Druids and others in the Zone) to fight back against him.
