Summary
ASims 4player has shared their recreation of Lyla Grunt, and long-time fans of the series are impressed. This little-known character originated inThe Sims 2, and while Maxis has shared an official recreation of the Sim that players can download forThe Sims 4, this fan’sSims 4recreation is much closer to how she was originally supposed to look in the series.
Fans ofThe Simsmay not be overly familiar with Lyla Grunt, even if they playedThe Sims 2. That’s because Lyla Grunt was part of apre-made Sims familyinThe Sims 2, but was programmed to have already died in the game’s overall story before players start their own households. Lyla was the mother of Tank Grunt, Ripp Grunt, and Buck Grunt. However, her development was so early on in the game that her character file is effectively broken, making her look glitched if she’s forcibly resurrected in the game.
Now, a Reddit user going by Buckleysoreal has recreated Lyla Grunt forThe Sims 4, with impressive results. Buckleysoreal created this version of her based off of her uncorrupted appearance, which can be located via third-party programs. The resemblance, despite thevisual style differences betweenThe Sims 2andThe Sims 4, is excellent, with the Sim’s overall appearance, clothing, and eye color all looking correct. Lyla’s eye color notably doesn’t appear correctly if she’s brought back inThe Sims 2, showing her with brown eyes, but her original data should have blue eyes, like in this recreation.
The Sims Fans Want Lyla In Their Game
Numerous players have expressed their excitement over the recreation, especially because Buckleysoreal has done a good job of recreatingThe Sims 2’s stylized Sims. Several have asked if Buckleysoreal will upload their version of Lyla to the gallery. Buckleysoreal noted that since they used custom content and sliders to create her, they were hesitant to upload her to the gallery. However, they note that so long as the requesters are ok with using the necessary custom add-ons, they’ll upload her when they’re able to do so.
The Simsseries is full of all kinds of interesting lore when it comes to the premade families and characters in the titles. For example,Bella Goth went missing inThe Sims 2, and seemingly never reunited with her family despite showing up in Strangetown. Bella Goth has since appeared inThe Sims 4, but the lore indicates that it’s a sort of parallel universe version of the character. Some of the mysteries inThe Simshave never been resolved, but fans can always use mods or recreate the characters themselves, if they so choose.
