Summary

Solo Levelinghas its fair share of incredibly strong characters, with some being capable of inflicting so much damage that a dungeon can be completed in a matter of minutes. Then, there are those who are gifted with the powers of being a hunter but lack the strength to act on their abilities. This is what separatesSolo Levelingcharacters from E-Rank hunters to those in S-Class.

With E-Rank hunters making up the weakest of the bunch, they are unlikely to make any headway in battle. This doesn’t mean that a higher class will guarantee survival, however, as plenty of C-Rank to A-Rank characters have been made to look incredibly weak during their adventures.Despite showing extreme potential, they were ultimately defeated in battle, and many of such instances have come as a surprise to the audience.

If only he had known what Jin-Woo was capable of. His fire magic was quickly extinguished, as too was his life. While Kyuhwan was a gifted fire-using sorcerer, he was quickly defeated and killed in battle by Jin-Woo, to the point where it was embarrassing that he thought he stood a chance.

Unfortunately, when harm came, it was too much for Jingwoo to take on. Son Kihoon’s Teammates Are Too Scared to Follow Him into Battle – Solo Leveling Season 2 -Arise from the Shadow- Episode 6_image1-46

2Son Kihoon

An A-Rank Leader With A Heart Of Gold

Typically, A-rank leaders are as tough as nails and possess a strong character that does not take kindly to those who fall behind. Son Kihoon is the exception to that rule, as he has a heart of gold and is willing to accept all hunters for who they are. He happens to be the leader ofthe Hunters Guild Strike Squad B, which immediately makes him one of the most revered captains in the world.

However, as strong and skilled as Kihoon may be, he buckled under the pressure of a fight against the High Orc shaman Kargalgan. In the manga, he flinches at one roar from Kargalgan, but in the anime, he remains unfazed. Both have one thing in common: He is soundly beaten by Kargalgan, to the point of near-death. Had it not been for Jin-Woo, both Kihoon and the rest of the crew would have met their end.

After discovering that he was an A-rank hunter,Minsung retired from his acting careerin pursuit of a life inside dungeons. If only his announcement of becoming a hunter hadn’t been overshadowed by Jin-Woo becoming the 10th S-rank hunter, he may have gotten the spotlight he thirsted for.

During one of his first raids inside a dungeon, Minsung froze at the first sign of danger, unable to fight back against a swarm of ants running towards him. After being saved by one of his team members, Minsung was labeled a wuss by his team and was disregarded as a hunter, despite his A-rank class.
