One of the most notable changes inSpider-Man 2’s Patch 5 on PC is the upgrade to DirectStorage 1.2.3, which is expected toreduce traversal-related stuttering. The game’s use of GPU decompression for DirectStorage previously created challenges for players sporting GPUs equipped with less than 8GB of VRAM, but the latestSpider-Man 2PC update looks to have alleviated this issue. Additionally, the patchoptimizes performance when playing as Venom, fighting Symbiote enemies, and any related in-game cinematics.
The newMarvel’s Spider-Man 2PC update makes improvements to Nvidia DLSS Ray Reconstruction as well, which helps in reducing noise in shadows on facial details and refining ray-traced ambient occlusion and reflections. Beyond performance improvements, the latest patch addresses several quality-of-life issues forSpider-Man 2on PC, such as UI elements failing to load properly during Prowler side quests when frame generation and upscaling are active. Likewise,Spider-Man 2’s Hunter Blindsminigame now displays controls correctly on PC, and mouse and keyboard input issues in Photo Mode have been fixed too.
