AStardew Valleyplayer has shared their unfortunate misunderstanding of a particular challenge issued to them that led to a lot of wasted time. TheStardew Valleycommunity have shared their thoughts on the mistake, with some admitting that they have experienced similar accidents.
InStardew Valley, there’s no real game over moment, and players are allowed to accomplish as little or as much as they want. Some players are content to play the game in a chill way and at a casual pace, while others want to accomplish as much as they can in any given day. Unlocking all the secrets andareas inStardew Valleycan take some time, but matters can get a lot more problematic if players have a misunderstanding like this.
On Reddit, user jack02204 has shared their story of getting a challenge to reach the 100th floor in the Skull Cavern by way of a Secret Note. However, jack02204 didn’t quite understand the challenge, as they went to the bottom floor of the Mines instead and received the Skull Key, which unlocks both the Skull Cavern and Junimo Kart in the Stardrop Saloon. Believing the two to be connected, they misunderstood the challenge to mean that they needed toplay Junimo Kartand reach level 100, instead of the Skull Cavern.
Skull Cavern Misunderstanding was Time-Consuming
Anyone who hasplayed Junimo KartinStardew Valleyknows that the arcade mini-game offers a significant challenge. In Progress Mode, the game only runs for six levels, meaning the player would have to have tried Endless Mode to get their 100-level accomplishment done. Jack02204 notes that they never made it that far, but spent far too much time on Junimo Kart, only to realize later on after repairing the bus and gaining access to Calico Desert that the challenge had been about something else entirely.
Other players have sympathized with jack02204, even going so far as to say they may have quit the game entirely if this had been the actual challenge. Others expressed surprise about Junimo Kart, as it seems some players didn’t even know the arcade game existed. It would seem that having theSkull Key unlock both an arcade game and the Skull Cavernhas thrown off some players, and mixing in the Secret Note makes matters even more confusing. Others shared that they were similarly confused reaching the bottom floor of the mines with no one there. One fan may have had it even worse, admitting that they didn’t know the elevator worked, and thus would have had to have started from the top every time they went mining.
