Ever sinceShattered Spacedropped, Bethesda has been pretty quiet about any of its plans for this year. Between the desire for anotherStarfieldDLC and the hope thatThe Elder Scrolls 6finally shows up again, the anticipation surrounding Bethesda projects is strong.Fallout 76and its addition of playable Ghoulsis one of the few things the developer has been vocal about. It’s unclear whenStarfieldwill get its next big update, but when it does, Bethesda will want to watchThe Outer Worlds 2very carefully.
The Outer Worlds 2 Offers a Space-Faring Competitor

Starfield is in Need of a Win
WhileStarfieldwas well-received by critics at launch, player feedback tells a different story. Players claiming the game’s world is empty has leftStarfielda mixed bag for a lot of people.Shattered Spacedidn’t help, either, as many found the expansion’s story underwhelming. The next DLC may not be officially announced yet, but a lot of fans are hoping for something more robust than whatShattered Spaceoffered.Starfieldcould still surprise, of course, but Bethesda may want to make a move sooner, rather than later.

Starfield News Could Be Imminent
At the beginning of the month, the officialStarfieldTwitter account addressedquestions regarding the game’s 2025 plans. The tweet stated, “The team has been hard at work, and while we’re not ready to share specific details just yet, we have a lot of exciting things planned for the game this year that we can’t wait to talk about when the time is right.”
While this message is incredibly vague, it at least hints that something could be on the way fairly soon. Of course, only time will tell what the next update has in store for fans, but until then,The Outer Worlds 2looming in the distancecould shake upStarfield’s 2025 goals.
