The series has a fascination with gods and goddesses, making sure to either let players receive aid from these divine beings orfight tooth and nail against massive godswho want to tear humanity to shreds. Either way, the power boasted by these divine creatures is in a class of its own and something that will inspire awe and dread in fans.

The Warring Triad is a legendary trio of gods that ensures balance in the world. It’s easy to downplay their power, given how easily Kefka was able to disturb their equilibrium, but that’s an overly simplistic way of looking at things.

After all, players who found each of the Warring Triad during their ascent to Kefka’s Tower know just how challenging these foes can be. It’s only after beating these foes that players can ascend to the very top of the tower and defeat Kefka once and for all.

Ultima’s appearance inFinal Fantasy 16is quite intimidating, although it’s a shame that the game’s unique world-building and lore were discarded for this divine threat. Either way, Ultima shows off his power and overpowers Clive more often than not during their confrontations.

It’s not until Clive acquires Joshua’s power and calls upon the support of his allies that he finally gains the strength needed totake on Ultima in one final battle. The god’s short-sightedness doomed him, with Ultima failing to overpower the human will to survive as he succumbed to Clive’s might.

After disturbing the balance of the Warring Triad, Kefka absorbed their power and became a pseudo-God who could smite anyone who stood against him with his Light of Judgment. This caused the world to fall into ruin as everyone feared Kefka’s rage and refused to fight against him.

However, this doesn’t stop the heroes from banding togetheragainst Kefka in a multi-phase boss fight, who is taken out by the combined might of the heroes. While the final fight may not do justice to the strength, the fact that his Light of Judgment could decimate entire towns in mere seconds is a testament to his awe-inspiring power.

After defeating Trance Kuja, Zidane and his friends must fight one final battle against a mysterious otherworldly entity named Necron, who wants to bring humanity closer to their doom. It’s a boss fight that may come out of nowhere, but it shouldn’t take away from the power he wields.

If players don’t have any status resistances to rely on, then Grand Cross can end this battle in a flash as the party is bombarded with status effects. Protecting against Grand Cross and relentlessly attacking Necron is key to winning this boss battle if the heroes don’t want to be overwhelmed by his moves.

It takes something special for an evil villain to travel back in time and become a god of Chaos because of their strong malice. Such is the case with Garland, who refuses to admit defeat and enacts a ludicrous plan to destroy the world.

While Chaos appears in several otherFinal Fantasygames, his debut in the originalFinal Fantasyis something fans can’t forget. Given how tough the 1987 version of this game was, it’s easy to see why many players tore their hair out while facing off against the game’s final boss, who was no joke.

Bhunivelze is supposed to be the God of Light, but his actions make it clear that all he wants is for humanity to be eradicated. After operating from the sidelines in the first two games, players get to feast their eyes on Bhunivelze for the first time in Lightning Returns.

As one would expect, the final boss fight against this god is no jokeand requires players to be at the very top of their game. His Double Deity is a powerful scythe that can cleave most foes in two with ease, while his magical prowess can undo creation itself with his spells.

Dissidia Final Fantasywas a fun experiment, with this crossover fighting game allowing fans to live out their wildest dreams as they controlled heroes from variousFinal Fantasygames in a bid to fight against Chaos and his villainous champions. The deity responsible for bringing everything together in a single dimension is Cosmos.

The Goddess of Harmonyboasts a ton of power if she can summon champions capable of defeating Chaos (albeit with a lot of work), but she never abuses her power, unlike her divine nemesis. Cosmos can obliterate anyone she wishes with her powers, but her position as the Goddess of Harmony means that playing a direct role in this confrontation would go against everything she stands for.

Players who go through the ludicrous grind of completing all of Zack’s SOLDIER missions will be treated toan optional superboss encounterthat’s no joke. Minerva is the god of Gaia who will flatten Zack in no time unless players have a strategy ready.

Loading Zack with healing items and optimizing his DPS is a must to deal with Minerva’s relentless assault. Even then, a single misstep is all it takes for Minerva to end a player’s run in a flash, making them rue the day they decided to take on Crisis Core’s hardest challenge.
