Summary
Two Point Museumis the latest management game in the Two Point series and lets players manage the day-to-day workings of several different museums. Visitors will each have their own particular needs and expectations, which will need to be met if they are to leave a positive review. While exhibits and staff will help with this, Perks offer a way to passively boost various aspects of exhibits andimprove the overall experience for guests.
Perks are acquired either on expeditions or by deconstructing exhibits in an Analysis Room. Once deconstructed, the item will grant a random perk which can then be applied to another exhibit on display. Perks can affect a whole range of different parameters, from the guest experience, to alleviating staff duties, to even helping to prevent crime.
10Knowledge Boost
Helps Inform Guests
Knowledge is one of the central demands of guests to the museum, and can be provided in a variety of ways, including perks and information stands. Each exhibit will have its own level of maximum Knowledge, which can be increased by analyzing items of a similar type in the Analysis Room.
Adding the Knowledge Boost perk to exhibits which already have high inherent Knowledge will help tomagnify their effect on visitors. However, it can also help to improve some lower-performing exhibits. In general,Knowledge is fairly easy to develop, and while the perk may be a bonus, it does not provide a hugely noticeable advantage.
9Decoration Boost
Improves Exhibit Decoration
Decoration is an essential element of building a museum that not only informs and entertains guests, but also provides them with a sense of aesthetic satisfaction. Every exhibit will have its own Buzz Bonus which often has decorative requirements, as well as an overall decoration rating alongside Buzz and Knowledge.
While Decoration is probably the easiest element to improve, it can help to have the perk installed in certain exhibitswhere players may still be deciding on a layout. What makes this perk good is the fact that it willimmediately push an exhibit’s decoration to its maximum, though it may still need additional requirements to fulfill its Buzz Bonus.
8Entertainment Boost
Satisfies Guests' Entertainment Needs
Entertainment is one of the core needs of any museum guest, though it can be harder to fulfill than certain other requirements. While the vast majority of exhibits will satisfy a demand for Buzz, Knowledge, and Decoration, only certain exhibits and items will improve guests' Entertainment.
Many of these Entertainment items, such as interactive exhibits, will require construction in a Workshop, which can be a long and expensive process depending on the item. Adding the Entertainment Boost perk, particularly to the museum’s most popular exhibits, is a sure-fire way of meeting the needs and boosting the reviews of visitors.
7Energy Boost
Lets Guests Stay Longer
Energy is an easy demand to neglect inTwo Point Museum. While guests are exploring andinvestigating the various exhibits around the museum, they will gradually lose energy and need to have it replenished if they are to continue as visitors.
There are several ways to do this, ranging from placing seats and benches around the museum, setting up a coffee kiosk, vending machines, or a cafeteria. But the Energy Boost perk willdirectly provide this benefit to an exhibit itself.
6Buzz Boost
Improves Guests' Reviews
Buzz is one of the most important currencies inTwo Point Museumand will affect the number of guests, their reviews, and the overall star rating and level of the museum. Simply put, the more Buzz, the better.
There are many ways to increase Buzz, but to get the most out of each exhibit, they will need to be rare and in pristine condition. The Buzz Boost perk providesan extra 10% Buzzfor any exhibit it is applied to, which can beespecially effective on rare, high-value exhibits.
5Built-In Speaker
Provides Buzz To Several Exhibits At Once
The Built-In Speaker is another great way to generate Buzz through exhibits, but it works slightly differently from a standard Buzz Boost. Instead of boosting a single item, the Built-In Speaker willcreate a small radius and improve similar surrounding artifactsas well.
This can be especially useful when players have a crowded collection of items that are working well together. It can also be applied to a larger item in the middle of a room to generate the maximum reach possible.
4XP Boost
Helps Improve Staff Progression
Staff XP is important, especially in the later stages of the game where expeditions are a lot more treacherous. Staff will generate XP by carrying out their day-to-day chores or going on expeditions.
Each time an Expert interacts with an exhibit to clean it, they will gain XP already. The XP Boostincreases the amount they will receive, ensuring that theylevel up faster and can thereby attain new skillswhich will help on future expeditions.
3Dust Deterrent
Reduces The Amount of Maintenance Needed
It is important to maintain exhibits, because the longer they go unclean, the less Buzz they will generate. Additionally, inspectors will not be impressed if they come to view exhibits and find them in a deteriorated state — which impacts the amount of money players will receive from grants.
Fortunately, the Dust Deterrent perk willslow the rate of condition decay in a chosen item. While it may lead to Experts gaining marginally less XP, it will be good for guests and inspections. Experts will still have plenty of other tasks to manage, so this can help them greatly on larger exhibits.
2Bolted Down
Prevents Criminals From Stealing
Crime and thievery will become increasingly common as the museum grows and attracts a wider variety of guests. There are several ways players can deal withsetting up security to prevent this, or at the very least dissuade criminals from trying to steal items.
The Bolted Down perk will keep an item from being stolen, ensuring thateven if criminals do attempt to steal it, they are unable to do so.This can be especially useful for the museum’s most valuable and most popular exhibits, though it will only be applicable to a single exhibit.
1Wide Watch
Deters Criminals Within A Wide Radius
Arguably the strongest perk in the game is Wide Watch. Much like security cameras, this perk willprevent thieves from stealing the exhibitit is applied to, while simultaneously discouraging them from stealing anything else nearby.
It can be especially useful in larger museums where players haven’t got enough camera coverage, or in busy museums where security staff may be on regular expeditions. Overall, it makes a great deterrent against thieves, which will become more of a problem as the museum gains popularity.
