Silent Hill 4: The Room PC New Features
For those unfamiliar with the game,Silent Hill 4: The Roomis easily one of the more unique entriesin the survival-horror franchise. Its gameplay is split between a creepy apartment and the world of Silent Hill, accessible through a hole in the bathroom wall. The game uses a first-person perspective when in the apartment and a third-person view when in Silent Hill. While not everyone was thrilled with the greater focus on combat in Silent Hill, others lovedSilent Hill 4: The Room’s originality and praise the apartment setting in particular as being a interesting one. Personally, it’s one of the more memorable horror games I’ve played, and I think it’s definitely underrated.
The new version ofSilent Hill 4: The Roomis exclusive to GOG on PC for now, so console gamers can’t revisit the game without breaking out their old hardware. TheSilent Hillseries has enjoyed a resurgence in recent years thanks to thesuccess of theSilent Hill 2remake, so maybe an effort will be made to makeSilent Hill 4: The Roommore widely available.
