According to multiple anonymous sources, Ballistic Moon, the studio responsible for last year’sUntil Dawnremake, is effectively shut down. Originally developed by Supermassive Games,Until Dawnput a fun twist on teen horror movie tropes, putting players in charge of which characters die depending on the consequences of their actions. This approach to the horror genre has made this style of gameplay a staple of Supermassive Games, spawning other titles likeThe QuarryandThe Dark Pictures Anthology.

In a report originally published by Insider Gaming, several unnamed sources have claimed that most ofBallistic Moon’s employees have been let go, with a handful being laid off even before theUntil Dawnremake launched last October. Several developers were kept on board for post-launch support, but they were reportedly laid off in December, merely a few months after the game released. One source was quoted as saying, “People are sharing bugs they’ve found in the game to make the team aware, but there is no one working on patch support for the game anymore.” Ballistic Moon has yet to fully address these claims, but if true, it likely means anUntil Dawnsequel is off the table.
