In a newSteampost, developer Poncle gave players an idea ofwhat’s coming toVampire Survivorsin 2025, including a hefty patch sometime in April. In October 2024, the Ode to Castlevania patch was released, which became the biggest expansion ever for the indie title. While work on this extremely well-received patch delayed some of 2025’s planned content, Poncle promises that the next update will be well worth the wait. “The update will be free and available on all platforms next month,” the developer wrote. “It’s probably the biggest free update we’ve ever done, so please stay tuned for more info very soon!” Additionally, it was announced that cross-save functionality forVampire Survivorswould be added alongside the April patch for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox, and mobile devices. Unfortunately, Switch users will need to wait for a later hotfix.
Vampire Survivors Version 1.3 May Be the Largest Free Update to Date
Last year’sOde to Castlevania DLC forVampire Survivorsinspired plenty of new players to pick up the hectic indie title, packed with familiar characters and music tracks from Konami’s legendary franchise. The update also introduced an additional 10 hours of gameplay, a new map, and 40 new weapons, with Neil Newbon (Astarion inBaldur’s Gate 3) appearing to voice Dracula. It’s unclear whetherVampire Survivorswill introduce any other crossovers in the future, though fans are eager for the possibility.
In January 2025, it was announceda live-actionVampire Survivorsfilmwas in the works, despite the title having no real story. The project is in the works with Story Kitchen, a company known for its video game adaptations for television and film, such as theSonic the Hedgehogmovies and the upcomingIt Takes Twofilm.
