Kofuns are small dungeons inAssassin’s Creed Shadowsthat are scattered around the game’s world, offering an extra challenge for every explorer to try their luck with finding a legendary loot chest.
Each Kofun comes with a different set of platforming challenges and puzzles. Some of them are maze-like locations, while some others have high-level enemies inside. Also, the Kofuns are character-specific, which means that the player cannot complete all the Kofuns on the map with one protagonist. For those struggling, here’s how to get through theVeiled Tumulus KofuninAssassin’s Creed Shadows.
Veiled Tumulus Kofun Location in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
This Kofun is located in theWakasaregion. Movingeast from the city of Obama, players will find the Kofun adjacent to the wide river. The land around the Kofun has a keyhole shape. It’s unique enough that the players can’t really miss it, but those struggling can refer to the above image if they are unable to locate the entrance.
Keep in mind thatonly Naoe can complete this Kofun.
All Veiled Tumulus Loot in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
There is a total of three loot chests available in Veiled Tumulus, with only one of them being Legendary. The other two chests offer common rewards, but they are along the path to the Legendary chest, and players will not need to take different routes inside the dungeon in order to claim them.
The legendary loot for Veiled Tumulus is theStone Heart Kusarigama, which comes withan Engraving that allows the player to spread affliction with a combo ender. The other two loot chests offer the following items:

After entering the dungeon, Naoe will facethree enemies. They will be minding their own business, and players can easilysneak past them without causing alarmif they wish. Hug the right cave wall and move up until you reach a blockage witha red potnext to it. Here, throw a knife at the pot to make it explode.
Remember that this mechanic as it will be used more than a few times in this Kofun to open up the path.
This will lead Naoe to a new part of the cave, where she will find a blocked passage with a reddish stone on top of it. Followthe ramp on the right sidethat leads you next to the top of the passage. There isa window-like opening on the wallhere, and if you look through it carefully, you will find one of those explosive pots.Throw a knifeat it through the opening to open the blocked passage.
After moving forward a little bit, the player will spot a body of water. A loot chest is located on the opposite side of a small cliff, and it will reward you with theTools Apprentice Mask. From here, follow the spiky cliffs in the water and then jump onto the ruined staircase with some grass on it.
Continue along the path, and you will find yourself on top of two other enemies. Look ahead, and there will be another explosive pot that should be shot. This will open up a crawl path.
Again, Naoe can ignore the enemies here and just run past them to reach the passage. If there is no level gap, however, kill them, and it will be a lot easier.
Crawling through the passage will lead Naoe to a hidden area with a lootable chest. This is the one that grantsTools Specialist Mask. Now look to the opposite side of the chest, and there will be another explosive pot to open the path.
This will lead the player to the same spot where the two hostile guards were located earlier. Again, Naoe can just run past them, but this time,she could get a hit if she’s not fast enough, as one of the enemies is an archer.
Continue the path forward and jump on top of the cave’s wall. You will find another of thosewindow-like openingson the wall. Again, throw a knife through the opening to the pot on the other side, and the blockage next to the window will be gone.
Move through the passage and crawl beneath a giant rock. Now, Naoe will find herself in a new room with three enemies,guarding the legendary chest. To be honest, the reaction time of the enemies is not fast enough. So, you’re able to hide behind the cover and throw a knife at the pot on top of the cave to distract them for a moment.
Then, run towards the chest and loot it. After that, try to dodge the arrows coming at you and then move on top of the cave, where you will find an opening to escape.
Along the way, you will find another red pot on top of a box.Do not throw a knife at this one. Instead, just run toward the box and make the pot drop. This will make the pot explode next to the blockage down the path.
The escape path will eventually lead to a big door opening that places Naoe in the initial room where the three enemies were located. She can still sneak past them, or she can simply rush towards the Kofun’s entrance.
