Once you finish the main story ofMonster Hunter Wilds, the real game only just begins. Now your Hunter Rank will be completely unlocked and you can rank it up freely, though this will require you to complete a lot of hunts and side quests.

Hunts may be the straightforward way ofincreasing your Hunter Rank, but side quests not only have you hunt or slay a monster but also get the bonus XP for completing the quest and turning it into the NPC. Rex is one of these NPCs who gives a fairly useful side quest; here’s where to find him and when he spawns.

Where To Find Rex In Monster Hunter Wilds

Rex is found sittingnext to your tent in Suja, Peaks of Accord. This is the final area you’ll unlock during the base game, and you’ll unlock it after most of the events in Wyveria and as you’re on your way to the final monster of the game. During your first trip here, Rex won’t be there, as you’ll first need to finish the base game.

Reaching Suja also means you only have about one or two hours left in the game, and after that, theGuild Master will travel to the Forbidden Lands to help your team with the investigation. Once this happens, Rex will be one of the armored guards who also come to this region and will stay in Suja after escorting the Guild Master there. Rex can be found on the left side of your tent in Suja, which is marked on the map andwhen fast travelinghere you’ll be dropped right in front of it with him in clear view.

Rex can also be found on the right side of the tent by the Blacksmith, but within view when looking at his usual location.

Rex’s Quest (As Gatekeeper)

Like manyquests in the endgame, As Gatekeeper revolves around fighting monsters in the Wounded Hollow, an arena-like area that unlocks by following the endgame story missions. This time around you’ll befighting two Ajarakans at once, which will result in a very chaotic fight unless you use your Slinger to raise the gate and split the two monsters up, letting you focus on one and kill it before moving to the next.

Ajarakans use fire attacks so focus your armor purely on fire resistance. Make sure your weapon doesn’t deal fire damage since they resist it, and trybringing a weapon that deals ice or water damageto take advantage of their weakness, especiallywhen hitting wounds.
