This guide covers a few common places where players can find Ancient Wyvern Coins. They aren’tas elusive as Genesis Opals, but they can be pretty hard to find if you don’t know what to do.
Where to Find Ancient Wyvern Coins in Monster Hunter Wilds
You canrandomly find Ancient Wyvern Coins in any of the regions. They glow gold and have a streak of light shooting up from them, making them hard to miss even in dense foliage. Running around and hoping to find a coin isn’t a very reliable farming tactic. but thankfully, there is one way to get these coins more easily.
Players can also get Ancient Wyvern Coins by killing or capturingCurioshell Crabs. These little critters can be found in fixed spawn locations across multiple zones, and if you catch them with your Capture Net (the same one youuse to capture Vigorwaspsand other small creatures), you can get an ancient coin from them.
Alma will call out any Curioshell Crabs the two of you come across while traveling. Make sure to pay attention to the things she say, andkeep an eye out for anything that’s scurrying on the ground when she does.
Curioshell Crab Location - Scarlet Forest
A Curioshell Crab spawnsnear the fishing spot in the Area 8 campsite of the Scarlet Forest, the one hidden behind the waterfall. Go to the little outcrop behind the tent where the Wudwud angler usually catches fish, then check the floor for the Curioshell Crab.
Alternatively, you can go to the Flowering Rocks pop-up camp site inArea 6 of the Scarlet Forest.A Curioshell Crab spawns near the Flowferns. You can also collect algae by diving into the pool of water nearby. By doing so, you can get Gobletweed, which is used for the next method covered later.
Curioshell Crab Location - Windward Plains
Another Curioshell Crab spawn location is in the undergroundcampsite beneath the oasis in Windward Plains in Area 14. Fast travel to the camp, then head through the exit to the left of the tent. Then, look left. The Curioshell Crab should be between the two Wylky Gemstone gathering points.
If a crab isn’t in one of the spots above, teleport to a different region, then come back. Alternate between two crab spawn points for maximum efficiency.
Trade with Rove
You can visit Rove in the Iceshard Cliffs andtrade either Gobletweed or Chaliceweed for a few extra Ancient Wyvern Coins. His requests will change from time to time, so verify to visit him regularly to see what items he needs. Rove also offers items like food ingredients and monster parts for crafting equipment.
What To Do With Ancient Wyvern Coins in Monster Hunter Wilds
You can exchange Ancient Wyvern Coins for materials byvisiting Gawdygog in the Wudwud Hideout in the Scarlet Forest. He’ll accept coins in exchange foritems like Armor Spheres, Melding Tickets, and Sinister Cloth, one of the key materials used to craft the Death Stench armor set.
