Many RPGs feature sprawling landscapes with multiple locations for you to experience. That’s why they often have some kind of fast travel system to make exploration a bit easier.Atomfallis a smaller game, but it still has some wide-open areas that are full of secrets and locations for you to poke around in.
The big question is, doesAtomfallhave a fast-travel system to save you some time when making your way to its various regions? Well, not exactly, but there are ways for you to get around the quarantine zone a little faster.
Can You Fast Travel In Atomfall?
Unfortunately,Atomfalldoes not have a traditional fast travel system. You can’t go to your map, click on a location, and warp there like you can in games likeFalloutorSkyrim. This makes back-tracking a little more tedious than it should be, as you’ll need to walk all the way back to places you want to re-visit.
However, that doesn’t mean that there aren’t ways to cut down on your travel time.Atomfallutilizes shortcuts to help you get back to places without having to walk the full way back. When you look at the map, if you see anicon that looks like a two-way street sign, this will usually mark an entrance that will bring you to another region.
Now, you just need to find the shortcuts.
Where To Find Shortcuts In Atomfall
The most common place to find shortcuts isThe Interchange. This is the massive facility that you’ll have to enter to advance the main plot. Through The Interchange, you can find shortcuts leading you toSlatten Dale, Wyndham Village, Casterfell Woods, and Skethermoor.
However, it won’t be as simple as just walking into The Interchange and following the signs. In the early portion of the game, many areas within The Interchange will be closed off due to a lack of power. You’ll have to useAtomic Batteriesto power up the entire building, which will open new sections of The Interchange. Then you’re able to use the signs on the wall to find entrances to every region. Just be aware that some of these shortcuts will be guarded by outlaws, Protocol soldiers, mounted turrets on the wall, and evengiant B.A.R.D. Robots.
Wyndham Villageitself is a sort of hub that has exits leading out to Slatten Dale, Casterfell Woods, and Skethermoor. As long as you don’t anger the Protocol soldiers stationed in the town, you can get to each region from this village.
Another spot where you can find shortcuts is theSewer Tunnels in Slatten Dale. You can find an entrance to the sewers at the coordinates28.0 E, 79.4 N.There’s another way in at the coordinates24.7 E, 78.2 N, although you’ll need to trade withMollyto get the key to open it. In there, you’ll encounter somedruidsthat will attack you on sight. But once you deal with them, you’ll find ways out of the sewers that lead to bothCasterfell Woods and Wyndham Village.
If you’re looking for a shortcut toSkethermoor, you can get there through theSlate Mine Caves in Slatten Dale. There are two entrances into the mines. One will be close to the beginning of the game at the coordinates28.9 E, 71.1 N.The other entrance is nearthe Slatten Dale Radio Towerat the coordinates30.0 E, 73.5 N.Inside the mines will be a man namedReg Stansfieldwho you can chat with. Headleft of him, and you’ll find a way to Skethermoor.
