Not every piece of equipment inMonster Hunter Wildsis made of giant predators. Apart from minerals and bones, some also require parts from the more docile creatures in the world. Herbivore Carapaces are plentiful and easy to get, but players may rarely have any in their inventories.

Getting a Herbivore Carapace inMH WIldsis much easier compared to gettingbig monster parts like Nerscylla Claws, but given their sources, some players might assume that they’re hard to get. Luckily, there’s a ton of Herbivore Carapaces near the very first base camp.

MH Wilds Ceratonoth location

Monster Hunter Wilds: Herbivore Carapace Location

Players can carve Herbivore Carapaces from Ceratonoths, the dinosaur-like creatures that are often found in herds in Windward Plains. There’s usually a Ceratonoth herd right outside the Plains Base Camp, and more can be found further in the grassland. To verify the herds spawn, Rest in your tent and wait until Daytime in Season of Plenty.

Ceratonoths are harmless. All they’ll do is run away once you start showing aggression, and since they can run fairly quickly, bring a ranged weapon like a Bow if you plan on hunting some. Keep in mind that Herbivore Carapace only droponce players reach High Rank.

MH Wilds Ceratonoth Carcass Herbivore Carapace

There’s a very good chance that players will get Raw Meat instead of Herbivore Carapace. It’s hard to pin the exact drop rate for the latter, but as long as you keep slaying Ceratonoths, you should be able to get all the carapaces you need for your crafting projects.
