However, now that Phase 8 is on theWoW ClassicPublic Test Realm, fans have uncovered something big on the horizon for the experimental servers. Caldoran, an inquisitor of the Scarlet Crusade who aids players inNaxxramas fromWoW ClassicSoD Phase 7, appears near the new Scarlet Enclave raid, but is now bereft of the corrupted Ashbringer he wielded in the raid. Spells and items datamined from the PTR suggest heroes can obtain the Ashbringer and purify it in the Well of Eternity, located on Mount Hyjal. Though the zone itself was not accessible in Vanilla, players have also discovered that the barricades preventing them from accessing Hyjal are gone, though the region is full of dangerous hazards. A new fast travel system between the new region and Winterspring fueled by Thisalee Crow, and a massive, untargetable slime monster, likewise suggest the zone will play a role in Phase 8, possibly as part of a quest to purify the Ashbringer.WoWcontent creator KaghoeGaming compiled some of these discoveries together and shared them in a short video on his YouTube channel.

Mount Hyjal and The Ashbringer in WoW Classic Season of Discovery Phase 8

Mount Hyjal is the location of the World Tree, Nordrassil, and the second Well of Eternity where the demon lord Archimonde was killed inWarcraft 3. It was added as a raid inThe Burning Crusadeand as a zone inCataclysm, but it was originally planned to appear in VanillaWorld of Warcraft. Likewise, Thisalee Crow is a Druid NPC who first appeared in the Mount Hyjal zone. Meanwhile, theAshbringer was only obtainable in its corrupted form in VanillaWorld of Warcraft, with its uncorrupted counterpart finally coming as a Paladin Artifact inLegion. Needless to say, this is the first time either of these iconic parts of the lore has been added toClassic WoW.

Were this not exciting enough,World of Warcraftcontent creator MrGM also discovered the boss list for the Scarlet Enclave raid. The Dreadlord Balnazaar returns alongside the living version of Lilian Voss – one of thenew leaders of the Forsaken sinceWoW: Dragonflight– a red dragon named Solistrasza, and even Scarlet Inqusitor Caldoran himself.

There are bound to be even more surprises inWorld of WarcraftClassic Season of Discovery beyond these. Phase 8 does not currently have a release date, but fans can expectWorld of Warcraftto share one before long.
