WWE 2K25 Rivalry Promos, Explained
Promos are a core part of rivalry actions, andWWE 2K25has expanded their functionality. A WWE Superstar can perform five different types of Promos inWWE 2K25, namelySelf-Promos, Call-Outs, Promo Interrupts, Issue Open Challenge, and Accept Open Challenge.
Description
Self-Promos
A Self-Promo is a way for your Superstar to publicly set a goal or challenge for themselves in their upcoming match. If the Superstar achieves the challenge they set, they get rewarded. If not, there are penalties. This action also gives the rival a reason to interfere in the match. The rival might want to prevent the Superstar from completing the challenge or to take advantage of the Superstar’s focus on the challenge. All in all, Self-Promos make matches more unpredictable.
Call-Out
A “Call-Out” is a classic wrestling trope where a Superstar in the ring delivers a promo specifically directed at their rival, demanding that they come out. This might involve trash talk, accusations, or simply a declaration of wanting to fight. It can lead to a future 1v1 match, an immediate 1v1 match, a brawl, or no match at all.
Promo Interrupt
In a Promo Interrupt, one Superstar is in the ring, conducting a promo, and another comes out to interrupt them. A Promo Interrupt can lead to a range of outcomes, including a future 1v1 match, an immediate 1v1 match, a brawl, or no match at all. Players can use interruptions to direct the storyline in different directions, setting up matches, building tension, or creating chaos.
Issue Open Challenge
A Superstar makes a public declaration, inviting any other Superstar to come out and face them in a match. The key element is that the challenger does not name a specific opponent, so players don’t know who they’ll fight until the match entrance. It’s a great way to an impromptu match and add an element of surprise to the show.
Accept Open Challenge
This is an action a Superstar can take in response to another Superstar issuing an “Open Challenge.” This action is specifically tied to existing rivalries. It’s not just any Superstar accepting any open challenge; it’s a rival responding to their rival’s challenge. Accepting the challenge leads to a match between the two rivals. The outcome of the match has positive or negative consequences.
